No Fear Zone
I have been in the health and wellness world for over 15 years now. I have never seen so much fear and confusion in the various nutrition programs that I have either read about or personally have done myself.
Don’t eat carbs. Don’t eat fat. Don’t eat more than x calories or you will get fat. How is a person to know what to do in all of the confusion?
I have tried all the extreme programs and there always has been something that quite didn’t make sense to me.
I like to look at things in a simple, no fear approach. I did the fear thing around food and all it did was make me miserable and frustrated. So I look at eating super simple. I eat the way my body was designed to eat. If there is something that my body reacts weird to, then that is eliminated from my menu.
I eat fruit, veggies, protein and fat. I eat diary, in the form of raw milk, raw cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, etc. I use sweeteners like stevia glycerite, maple syrup, honey and erythritol. Once I realized how to use the right combinations of these ingredients my body, energy and health skyrocketed into the positive.
I have a saying, “I just need a kiss of carbs”. What does that mean? For example, some meals that is half an apple or 1 cup of strawberries or a small sweet potato. And when I eat my kiss of carbs, I always include an ample amount of fat to go with it.
If someone was to look at what I eat throughout the day it would look pretty indulgent. I absolutely love the freedom I have found finding the Original Intention life eating plan. It is the first time in my life that I am having a blast with the food choices that I have.
The only thing you won’t find in my diet is grains. I don’t fear eating grains, I choose not to eat them to function at my potential. Now does that mean I NEVER have grains? Of course not, on occasions, maybe every other week or once a week at most I will partake in some rice, bread or pizza. And when I have my occasional grain fest I have a very specific way I eat that day, so my body will offset any potential unwanted affects from eating them. (See, Date Night Intermittent Fasting protocol).
Like I said, I keep my eating super simple and super real. I am not a food gastapo.
