My Body, My Earth
"Our bodies are created to be healthy." Those words resounded in my head as I was listening to a wellness doctor at a conference. I remember thinking to myself, "Yes, they are." But something is missing. Every day I see more sick people. More people hurting. More people dying. One of the most profound things I have ever heard in my life was by this doctor. He said, "Did you know your body is a living earth? It is a living ecosystem.".
I found myself lost for words as I heard this. He was right. I started to think about the ecosystem in the bodies of these sick and hurting people I have met. What were they eating? How were they taking care of the temple that was put on loan to them? Do they realize that their body is a vehicle that is meant to do so much more than get them from point A to point B? I had so many unanswered questions.
So I sat quietly in my seat and reflected on all these questions that were racing through my head. One thing I realized is that in order to make a change I have to "Be the Change". The only person I can change is myself. As I heard these words I thought of the freedom in them. Is that all that is required? Just focus on being the best I can be? Yes. That is all that is required. If that is all we focused on was being the best we can be; can you imagine the ripple effect in the world? One thing I do know is people want what you got. If you got health; they want it.
