Steaks, shakes, eggs and chili dogs
The other day my husband and I were driving home from work together and he said, "Every week I eat my favorites, steaks, shakes, eggs and chili dogs! I have incredible energy and my body keeps getting leaner."
Those 4 items are really his staple during our work week. And hey, he is the type of person that is always ready to mack down 4 chili dogs any day of the week!
My husband is a total meat and potatoes type of guy. He eats very simple. He eats for fuel. He eats for energy. He eats to get more muscle and to get leaner. He thrives off of eating protein. He throws a little bit of carbs in the day for an added energy boost.
The types of carbs he may eat are: a banana in a protein shake, may be some sliced strawberries with his whomping 5 egg omelete, a chocolate almond milk from pressed juicery that is sweetened with dates, or a big serving of mashed sweet potatoes with a steak or burger at dinner.
He does not have carbs at every meal. He may have a banana in the morning and somewhere in the afternoon have a serving of carbs. Too many carbs for him actually slows him down.
He does not eat any grains. So when he sits down to eat chili dogs - it is just that 4 hot dogs with meat chili (no beans and definitely no hot dog buns) on top. He may have a half a bag of Chile Lime plantain chips to go along with his chili dogs.
I know what you are thinking, "whoa, he eats a lot of food!" All I have to say is "YES" he does. My husband says, "I eat no bread and no buns. Keep the bread away, it just slows me down".
